Reiki at Spalding Support Group
Julie offers Reiki Treatments at the Spalding Support Group for a small donation that goes to Help Stop Cancer. Reiki is beneficial to those with cancer or caring for a loved one with cancer, to help with the stress and trauma.
(Reiki is not an alternative cancer treatment and does not heal cancer.)
What is Reiki?
Reiki is two Japanese words (Rei – ray – which means universal and Ki – key – which means life energy. The practice of Reiki is an original method of healing developed by Mikao Usui in Japan 1922.
Reiki is a simple, natural, safe, gentle method of deep relaxation and stress reduction which promotes healing. Although Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion and will work whether you believe in it or not!
What to expect from a Reiki treatment
A treatment session is usually carried out with the recipient lying down or sitting, there is no need to remove any clothing as Reiki energy passes easily through all materials, including plaster casts, then close your eyes and imagine you are in your favourite place, whilst listening to relaxing music.
The Reiki Practitioner gently places their hands on or over the body starting at the head, there is no massage or manipulation. You will feel very relaxed as the energy flows through the whole body, mind and spirit and you may even fall asleep, you could be very emotional too. But don’t worry, this is part of the healing process.
